LUNICS

Everyone have to start sometime. It was four youngsters who wished to play "barbed wire music"
as the the grown-ups used to say. What we realy wanted to do, was trying to copy the
music and the sound of the English so popular group THE SHADDOWS.
The year was 1959 and everyone who want to be something, had to have an electric
guitar or a plank as we called them. If you in addition owned an amplifier you became a king.
If not, we actualy where playing on every thing that sounds. The band shall of course have
a modern name, so we choosed THE LUNICS after the first Russian satellite with name "Lunik"

This picture was taken in the basement of a jazz club localized at the place called "Bingsfoss Café"
4 km north of Sørumsand. You can from the picture see that we are playing on everything from
a large 30" kick drum to a Tandberg tape recorder.
Two Norwegian constructed amplifiers brand TELRAD (not Tellad), 8W and 20 W
gave after big expectation, big sound pressure. :-)
Tore was the only one who own a plank, a red Hofner bass guitar. You had to have
a big imagination, to understand it was a bass sound who came out from the loudspeaker
of the an Tandberg Tape Recorder. We had a few gigs. Later the band was dissolved
since Knut wished to become a airplane pilot, and had to fully concentrate himself on the studies.
