Bands

How it all started....

Through my hole life I have always been interested in song and music.
I started to play already when I was 8 years old.
It was in the beginning of the 50's, and almost all big stars where playing guitars, and therefore          this was a must.
Since many of those nearest to me hold me as a coming singing star, I had to learn to play.
It was hard for me to accept that the guitar course should be hold at the local bethel,
including preach and pray.

But it was free, so I had to swallow my pride, and get me a child guitar.
So I learned most of all the open string chords, and broadly speaking, that was all.

After awhile came the possibility up to begin and learn to play trumpet in our school brass band.
Took that chance, learned a lot, found out it's was very usable to be able to play sheet music.

One year took another, then somebody want to start up a "Shadows" band.
For those who don't know this style, it's an instrumental guitar based band consisting of
solo guitar, rhythm guitar, Bass guitar and drums.

I was asked to join them, but I felt I wasn't good enough to play solo or rhythm guitar.
What they actual needed was a bass player,
so therefore my old guitar was replaced withfour stringsthat belonged to a bass guitar,
and I also had to learn to play that monster.

Then suddenly I found myself playing with a basement band with very simple outfits.
I was playing bass on the mic input on a TANDBERG tape recorder, what a sound, what a gig.
Remember the difficult acoustics in that room, but we didn't think it sound so bad, then....
You couldn't even with a little goodwill recognize the melody, someone later told us..

The strings on a bass guitar are thick, and one of them are almost 3 times thicker the thickest         guitar (E) string.
I practice and practice, but my bass strings where more or less littered from blood and sweat.

But, after awhile I got callus at my fingertips, and the color of the strings looks more decent.
Understood the thing called exercise, and after a while people realized what song we

tried to play...
Since that, I have spend a lot of years in several bands, most of them as an amateur.
I had a finger in the pie in many projects, some of the bands are listing to the left.
The last one did exists in nearly 25 years.
